Viking Shield and Axes Coffee Mug

A Viking shield and crossed battle axes superimposed on a wooden plank wall background image. The shield is black on the left side with a red right hand print. The other side of the shield is blue with a white eagle in Celtic-Norse style. Customize by adding your own text on the reverse side. Viking shields varied. I have based this on historical examples. Shields were sometimes covered in leather, as is this one. As a result the paint is imperfect allowing for a hint of the underlying leather to be seen. Iron edges were rare; I have opted for leather edging as was often used. I opted for simple axe heads instead of the beard axe and more fanciful interpretations that are commonly employed by artists.

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
