About the artist: Maurice Pillard-Verneuil studied under Art Nouveau master Eugene Grasset. An early interest in Japanese printmaking blossomed into a passion for Asian art after his visit to Southeast Asia. In love with nature and the natural world, he drew inspiration from plants, flowers, animals, insects and marine life. About this artwork:This particular design is from a suite of 60 colour lithographs after decorative Art Nouveau devices by Mucha, Verneuil and Auriol found in the book 'Combinaisons Ornementales se Multipliant à l'Infini à l'Aide du Miroir' (Decorative Combinations, Infinitely Multiplied with a Mirror) by George Auriol, pseudonym of Jean-Georges Huyot, journalist, poet, songwriter, painter and engraver. Published in the year 1900 by Librairie Centrale des Beaux Arts, Paris. It has been carefully and lovingly prepared for print by a professional graphic artist using state-of-the-art software.
