VERMIFUGE WORM and LUNG MEDICINE 1889 Poster

In the late 1880s, Dr. Jayne's Family Medicines produced TONIC VERMIFUGE. A tonic for young and old .... for any Lung or Throat Disease .... and, a sure remedy for Worms. A maiden holds Baby Moses in a basket. This may be one of the finest examples of Patent Medicine advertisements from the 19th century available today. Why? Most of the ads were for newspaper or magazines and of poor quality and small size. This one is huge with high resolution, in colour, and by an obviously accomplished artist. This is the actual calibrated restored colour of the original ad as it was presented to the public. Dr. Jayne's spared no expense toward marketing this product. It must have been a flagship medicine in their line ... with proportionate sales.
