The painting shows a book open to a map of the East Indies, which was a place where the Dutch made a large fortune. Another book is open to the early history of Holland. Pearls represent the pleasures of life, while the hourglass shows the passage of time. The heavens and the earth are represented by two different globes.

The shipping was the problem. Box was flimsy and item got bent.. only suggestion would have been to put in a canister or mark fragile. Printing was exactly as shown
