This design is of Adam Bernaert's 1665 painting called "Vanitas: Still Life". This painting is based on Ecclesiastes 1:2, which says "Vanity of vanities! All is vanity." The painting shows a book open to a map of the East Indies, which was a place where the Dutch made a large fortune. Another book is open to the early history of Holland. Pearls represent the pleasures of life, while the hourglass shows the passage of time. The heavens and the earth are represented by two different globes.
