Van Gogh Cafe Terrace (F467) Fine Art Poster

The Cafe Terrace Place du Forum, Vincent van Gogh, Arles September 1888. The painting is currently at the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, Netherlands. Vincent Willem van Gogh (30 March 1853 – 29 July 1890) was a Dutch Post-Impressionist artist. Some of his paintings are now among the world's best known, most popular and expensive works of art. Still today, visitors to the Place du Forum in Arles can stand at the north eastern corner where the artist set up his easel. He looked south toward the artificially lighted terrace of the popular coffee house as well as into the darkness of the street leading up to the building structure far back comprising the town house (to the left, not pictured) and, beyond this structure, the tower of a former church (now a museum). On the right, Van Gogh indicated a lighted shop as well, and some branches of the trees surrounding the place.
