Valley of Fire State Park Postcard

cool landscape shot @ VoF yesterday..... On apersonal note: I was sorta disappointed to learn that Valley of Fire (a NV State Park) does not have a "Jr. Ranger Program" yet... It was explained to me (by an on-site Ranger) that they are in the works of creating / formating one, & I'm sure funding probably has a lot to do with it... I haven't researched a lot of the particulars about it, but I for one am all for Valley of Fire getting a Junior Ranger program ASAP - And not just so lil' Miss Rebeccah can add this as a badge to her growing collection ;) - But so that all kids who come through here can have the same pleasure of learning about this area as we've had with Lucy & Becky at other State & National Parks... These programs are so much FUN for the kids - and they learn so many valuable lessons that stay with them!! - from how the plant life & ecosystem of a particular area works, to things as mundane as 'not littering'! - So, if ya'll get a chance - PLEASE take the time to visit the gorgeous Valley of Fire just outside Las Vegas - this is the Perfect time of year to do so!! :) It's an absolutely beautiful area, with loads of historical signifigance - there's tons of neat petroglyphs! - Lots of unusual rock & mountain formations - everything about it is cool! :) & we'd love to see them get a Jr. Ranger program going here soon for all the visiting children! :)
