The Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Tippecanoe (T-AO 199), centre, refuels the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force destroyers JDS Kongo (DDG 173), left, and JS Ikazuchi (DD 107) Dec. 5, 2010, while under way in the Pacific Ocean. Kongo and Ikazuchi are participating with the George Washington Carrier Strike Group in Keen Sword 2010, a joint exercise with the U.S. Navy to evaluate and practice coordination procedures.
