Sticker art, sometimes known as Slap Tagging, is a form of street art in which the message is conveyed by stickers. Sticker art is most noticeable in well-trafficked urban areas. Stickers may promote political agendas, comment on a policy or issue, or comprise an avantgarde art campaign. Sticker art is believed to have been created in 1987 by pop.ac (formerly known as Art Collart), a Hamburg artist. However, since then, it has become a worlwide phenomenon giving birth to global slap tagging campaigns like "Obey Giant" and "This is a Heavy Product".
