Title：雪の宮島 （yuki no miyajima / ゆき の みやじま / Snow at Miyajima Shrine）Miyajima (Itsukushima) is an island in Hiroshima Prefecture. It is famous for Itsukushima Shrine, which is known for its vermilion-lacquered torii gate and shrine buildings floating on the sea. Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
