Title：雨の牛堀（ame no ushibori / あめ の うしぼり / Ushibori in rain) Ushibori was a town located in the southeastern part of Ibaraki Prefecture, at the eastern end of Kasumigaura (the second largest lake in Japan). Artist :川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
