Title : 雪に暮るる寺島村（yukini kururu Terashima mura / ゆきに くるる てらしまむら / The Village of Terashima on a Snowy Evening from “Twelve Scenes of Tokyo”) 「東京十二題」より Terashima Village (now Higashimukōjima, Sumida-ku) was once a popular tourist spot in the suburbs of Yedo, and was also known as a supplier of fresh vegetables. Artist : 川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
