Title : 五月雨ふる山王（samidare furu Sannō / さみだれ ふる さんのう / Sanno Shrine in Early Summer Rain from “Twelve Scenes of Tokyo”) 「東京十二題」より Sanno is the Hie Shrine located in Nagata-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. The Sanno Festival is one of the three major festivals in Tokyo. Artist : 川瀬巴水 (Kawase Hasui / かわせ はすい) Kawase Hasui (May 18, 1883 - November 7, 1957) was a woodblock print artist active during the Taisho and Showa periods. He established the world of new prints in an attempt to revive the declining Japanese ukiyoe prints. His works were highly acclaimed overseas, and he has been called the "Hiroshige of the Showa period.
