"和漢百物語 (Wakan hyaku monogatari)“ is a series based on Japanese and Chinese horror stories and heroic anecdotes by 月岡芳年 (Tsukioka Yoshitoshi). ＊No.6 頓欲の婆々（Donyoku no babā / どんよく の ばばあ） 舌切り雀 ("The sparrow with its tongue cut out)” is one of the Japanese fairy tales. An old man received a small wicker trunk as a gift from a kind sparrow, which contained gold, silver and treasure. Seeing this, the greedy grandmother forcibly takes the large wicker trunk from the sparrow, thinking that it must contain even more treasure. On her way home, she opens the trunk and sees a monster jumping out, making her faint with agony. ＊I used data from the National Diet Library's Digital Collection and made colour corrections. ＊Any of my designs can be transferred to over a thousand other items and adjust the design to fit the product if you needed.
