Because the Sujaku-mon crest was used by the Kajuji family and the Uesugi clan for Kugyo (the top court officials) and the Uesugi clan for samurai families, the distribution of the crest was limited to the regions where the Kajuji family and the Uesugi clan were related. In other words, the Kajuji family, a court noble, was limited to Kyoto, and the Uesugi clan, a samurai family, was based in Sagami, extending to Musashi, Ueno, Echigo, and Ou. However, since this crest was treated as an emblem of honor after the peony, only powerful families such as Nagao (Uesugi), Date, and Mogami received it and granted it to their vassals less than other emblems, so all of them were distributed locally, such as the emblem of Tomoe and Kuyo (nine days).
