Tuktoyaktuk Canada Postcard

Tuktoyaktuk, commonly known as 'Tuk,' is an Inuvialuit village located on the shores of the Arctic Ocean. It is famous for being the end of the Inuvik-Tuktoyaktuk Highway, the first all-weather road in Canada to reach the Arctic coast, and for its unique geological formations called pingos. Pingos are ice-cored hills that rise abruptly from the flat tundra. The largest in the area, Ibyuk Pingo, stands as a landmark against the vast, open horizon where the land meets the Beaufort Sea. The community offers a rare glimpse into life on the edge of the world, where the sun never sets in the height of summer.
