Tsuta-damaru: Around the middle of the Edo period, the crest was the aoi-mon (aoi-mon), which was forbidden, and entertainers and townspeople, regardless of the family tree, selected and used the cool crest. The crests of the hard-living samurai society are disliked, and elegant or stylish crests are selected. Tsuta and Hanabishi-mon are the most popular patterns among them ("Monsho" written by Yukiko ITO) and "Onan-mon" written by Masaki KONDO contain the following descriptions. When the women's crests appearing in the collected questionnaires are arranged by motif, the most frequently appearing crests are paulownia ("Gosan no kiri", "Mitsuwari no kiri", "Kiri"), tsuta ("Tsuta", "Edamaru tsuta", "Mitsuwari tsuta"), and butterfly ("Ageha cho"), and paulownia and tsuta account for nearly half of them.
