Tree in Landscape Early Spring Snow Throw Pillow

A poplar tree stands solitary in the early spring snow, classic theme of the lone tree, with other deciduous trees and conifers or evergreens clustered around in the background of the landscape. Tracks lead to and from the poplar in centre. This is an original photograph with artistic treatment suggesting a vintage silver gelatin print and is influenced by techniques of early photography from the 1800s, and the evolution of the genre. This photo was taken the afternoon of March 27 2015, Jacques Cartier Park, Gatineau (Hull) Quebec, Canada, right across the river from Ottawa, Ontario Canada. It's a week after the first day of spring and there had been a blizzard earlier in the day. The graceful beauty of the moody landscape is enhanced by the muted tones as well as soft angles of the natural lines of snow and trees, shapes, use of negative space, subtlety of shading and balanced contrast of dark and light.
