"Treaty of Greenville" Throw Pillow

"Treaty of Greenville" Throw Pillow

Side One of this beautiful, historic and descriptive pillow show the Lenni Lenape meeting together with other native leaders before the 1795 Greenville Treaty was signed with American army and militias, under Mad Anthony Wayne. Side two of this historic pillow shows the Treaty of Greenville being signed on August 3, 1795, at Fort Greenville, now Greenville, Ohio; it followed negotiations after the Native American loss at the Battle of Fallen Timbers a year earlier. It ended the Northwest Indian War in the Ohio Country and limited strategic parcels of land to the north and west; ending violence only temporarily. In exchange for goods to the value of $20,000 (such as blankets, utensils, and domestic animals), the Native American tribes ceded to the United States large parts of modern-day Ohio, the future site of downtown Chicago. Between 1774 and 1794, Indian villages in New York, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Ohio were constantly attacked by the American army and militias. The Shawnee, Delaware, Iroquois, Miami, Odawa, Wyandot and Mingo saw unspeakable violence committed against their villages during this time period. the Fort Detroit area, Maumee, Ohio Area, and the Lower Sandusky Ohio Area.

Love the fabric and the vibrant colours. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the pillows were slightly smaller than 41 x 41 cm. I was disappointed with that. The printing turned out excellent!
