Travel Art Dunns River Falls Jamaica Postcard

Located on Jamaica’s North Coast, the Dunn’s River Falls is a popular tourist attraction. The Dunn’s River is fed by spring water rich in calcium carbonate and deposits travertine thus forming a chain of tufa terraces that continuously rebuilds using the sediments in the spring water. The Dunn’s River Falls is one of the few travertine waterfalls in the world that empties directly into the sea. The historical Battle of Las Chorreras fought between the English and a Spanish expeditionary force from Cuba in 1657 took place in the vicinity of the falls.
