Train - The Aqueduct of Santiago de Querétaro 1885 Postcard
Colorized photo from around 1885
Original Title: Aqueduct at Queretaro, Mexico
Location: Queretaro, Mexico
This is the Aqueduct of Santiago de Querétaro, its is a very long structure, measuring 1280 metres long. It has 75 arches, and was built between 1726-1738. For a long time it supplied water to the town, but today (as in right now), it doesn't, instead it directs water to fountains and such.
The train is a 4-4-0, Taunton 819 built in 1881, its nick name was the Hidalgo. This company was one of the earlier train companies, opening in 1849. They built their engines in Massachusetts, and closed shop in 1899. They were able to build over 900 locomotives.
