1. Chi-Rho with Anchor History: The Chi-Rho (☧), formed from the first two Greek letters of Christos, was made famous by Emperor Constantine after his vision before the Battle of the Milvian Bridge (312 AD). It quickly became one of the most recognized Christian symbols of Christ’s victory. Christ the Lamb with Victory Banner & Sanctus History: The Lamb of God (Agnus Dei) imagery comes directly from Scripture: John the Baptist’s proclamation (John 1:29) and the victorious Lamb of Revelation (Rev 5). From the 4th century onward, Christian art depicted Christ as a lamb bearing a banner or cross, signifying His resurrection victory. The triple Sanctus (“Holy, Holy, Holy”), taken from Isaiah’s vision (Isaiah 6:3) and echoed in the Mass, connects earthly worship with the eternal liturgy of heaven. Meaning: This sticker unites sacrifice and triumph: Christ the Lamb slain yet victorious, worshipped eternally as Holy. 4. IHS with the Four Evangelists History: The IHS monogram comes from the first three letters of Jesus’ name in Greek (ΙΗΣΟΥΣ), widely popularized in the West by St. Bernardine of Siena in the 15th century as a devotion to the Holy Name of Jesus. Surrounding it, the Four Evangelists—each with their traditional symbols (Matthew: angel, Mark: lion, Luke: ox, John: eagle)—stem from early Christian interpretation of Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 1) and Revelation 4. These symbols became standard in manuscripts, mosaics, and church iconography.
