Toyama Umebachi/Ume crest/This name is based on 'Mon Den' and 'Japanese Crests'./In 'Hei'an Monkan', it is referred to as 'Toyama Maeda Umebachi', while in 'Mon no Izumi' and 'Monsho Dai Shusei', it is referred to as 'Kaga Hanaken Umebachi', and in 'Edo Monsho Shu', it is referred to as 'Hanagata Kaga Umebachi'./The Maeda family in Kanazawa has a sword-like shape, while the Maeda family in Toyama has a choji (clove) shape, and the Maeda family in Daishoji has a Uri (melon) shape...(from 'Japanese Crests' by Numata Raisuke)./In my opinion, the ones referred to as 'Hanaken' are likely because the tip of the sword has a shape resembling a Tang flower./The design in 'Mon no Kokorozashi' differs from this, with the petals and stamens connected.
