TOTEM SPIRIT Art Collection Postcard
In a tiny village of 450 souls in northern British Columbia, stand some amazing Totem Poles. This is the first of many Totem designs I will be sharing with you from Gitanyow (and other remote areas of B.C.,) featuring some famous and ancient Totems that are admired and respected, the World over.
In 1928, renowned B.C. Artist and Author, Emily Carr, travelled to the village by wagon, to record what she believed to be a dying artform.
Our message is simple: "Cherish Native Culture". The gifted Gitxsan carvers of the region produced and still produce work that stands proudly alongside the best the World has to offer. Thank you for sharing in this beautiful culture with us.
