The Tomten design was created using watercolor and graphite by Ness Nordberg. These adorable and cute Christmas gnomes are inspired by Scandinavian folklore. Tomten is considered as the Swedish and Norwegian version of Santa Claus. This collection include Tomtens holding a range of different items including a pine tree, lantern, gingerbread, sack, present and julbock. All artworks © Ness Nordberg. All rights reserved worldwide. I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
