Timeless Beltane Sunset Postcard

I had the weirdest sensation as I celebrated Beltane in the place where this photograph was taken. I was alone - insofar as anyone is ever alone in such a time and place - which is unusual for me during this Sabbat. But as I waited there, watching the Beltane sun passing beneath a British horizon, then began my solitary celebrations, I felt myself within a tide of countless others. I'm not talking Others, nor deity, nor any of that ilk. But you, and you there too, and you over there, and all of you, and myself at Beltane celebrations in past-future times and places. A veritable choir of chanting voices, only just unheard, but tingling at my ear-drums, casting the same beat. It's never happened before, and I was sober. Perhaps that latter is the point. But thank you all for being there. It made a lonely Beltane suddenly really great.
