The Welsh Flag Poster

This national flag of Wales consists of a red dragon on a red and white field. The dragon comes from the heraldic Red Dragon of Cadwaladr, the seventh century king of Gwynedd, or North Wales. The dragon has been a national symbol in Wales and probably dates from Roman times when dragon banners were used by the legions. The green and white field represent the Welsh dynasty of Tudor which ruled England and Wales from 485 to 1603. When Henry VII gained the kingdom at the Battle of Bosworth, his banner was green and white.
