The Walker River in Autumn Postcard

Autumn colours along the banks of the Walker River in California north of Bridgeport, CA along Highway 395. The water is so low in the fall, and the river meanders peacefully through a lovely canyon. But, each spring the melting of the snowpack in the Sierra Nevadas changes the peaceful river. In the late 1990's many miles of highway 395 were washed away in this canyon when the river flooded.
