The Super: 20th Century Obsolete Postcard
Reflection: They had towers, towers that said SUPER Market. The Lucky down the street sported an art deco logo and yellow/ green Raymond Loewy-designed façade. Safeway’s space age Marina Market graced the car chase in Bullitt (1968), it was a style of shopping so cool it simply just flew away. Frank Petrini knew a thing or two about haute cuisine, selling fine wine before anyone else did. The butcher at Albert & Sons Market was named “Ernie” and he really was Super. High contrast photographic composition created in the final days of 1999. Built from candid shots taken in and around the San Francisco Bay Area.
