Inspired by the tense, snowbound science fiction thrillers of the 1950s, this vintage-style poster captures the stark atmosphere, creeping dread, and high-stakes suspense of classic alien encounter cinema - where the cold is deadly, but the visitor is worse. I've been working on creating humorous vintage horror movie posters for a while, but with squirrels as the unexpected villains or monsters. Why squirrels? I wanted a critter that would be the last thing anyone would expect to be a threat. After some pondering, I landed on squirrels - because let’s be honest, cute little kittens as villains would just be too obvious!
