THE SNACK POSTER, 16X20, SAKURA BACKGROUND POSTER
In Japan, cherry blossom flower viewing (Hanami) is definitely one of the best season for outdoor snacks! The practice of picnicking under a blooming sakura was started since the 8th century, and the most well-known snacks are Sakura Mochi and Hanami Dango, which both were named after this Sakura viewing tradition.
When I think about "snacks," what first come in my mind is the snacks sealed in a plastic package and you can easily find them in a supermarket. What I didn't know was that many Japanese snacks were used to be freshly made as street food.
On this poster, there are 25 different Japanese snacks/street food illustrations. Each illustration was drawn based on real food.
Underneath each illustration, there is a list of ingredients of what each snacks are made out of. Sometimes, gathering a few ingredients will already make you a delicious homemade Japanese snack!
