The Sketchers by John Singer Sargent Coaster

The Sketchers (1914) by John Singer Sargent is a vintage Victorian fine art landscape nature painting. Two artists are painting masterpieces under a tree near a forest. The man has his back turned and is using a parasol to provide shade from the sun. This painting was done in the "en plein air" style which means in the open air, meant to describe paintings created outside. About the artist: John Singer Sargent (1856-1925) was the most successful portrait painter of his era. Sargent is usually not thought of as an Impressionism painter, but he sometimes used impressionistic techniques to great effect with his own version of the impressionist style.
