About This Design

Circle with Six Eyes Mug

This design is based on a crest in the frontispiece photograph of Hiroko Yoshino's "Fan" (first edition published on January 15, 1970). The photograph shows a young boy performing a ritual ground-pounding at the Kasuga Shrine in Yamagata Prefecture on February 1. (Created on April 30, 2013) The name "six-square-eyes" is not found in any crest book, so I named it based on its resemblance to a triple-eye shape. Therefore, this name may be incorrect.
