The Sicilian roving vendor’s - Postcard

I particular remember when we visited some friends in Sicily, the "venditori ambulenti", roving vendors. The roving vendor would show up a few times a week announcing the produce on his loud speaker. The back of the roving vendors truck overflows with floppy lettuces, cauliflower, ripe tomatoes, wild artichokes, and just-plucked oranges—their green-leafed stems still attached as proof of freshness. He saves us a trip down 100 steps to the nearest market.
