The Nympheas of Claude Monet (Water Lilly) Postcard

The Nymphéas are a series of about 250 oil paintings by Claude Monet (French Impressionist) during the last 31 years of his life. These paintings represent the garden of flowers and more specifically the pond of water lilies from Monet to Giverny. Many works were painted while the artist suffered from cataract. These paintings come in different shapes (square, circular, rectangular, etc.) and with very variable sizes up to several meters. In Paris, the main exhibition venues of the Nymphéas, apart from the Musée de l'Orangerie, are the Musée Marmottan and the Musée d'Orsay, but Nymphéas' paintings can be found in the world's main museums. In 1999, sixty paintings by Nymphéas from all over the world were gathered for a special exhibition at the Orangery Museum
