The Israel Space Agency - סוכנות החלל הישראלית, is the aerospace team placing satellites in earth orbit. ISA is a governmental body, a part of Israel's Ministry of Science and Technology, that coordinates all Israeli space research programs with scientific and commercial goals. ISA was established in 1983 and is currently headed by Major Gen. (ret.) Prof. Yitzhak Ben Yisrael. Israel is the smallest country with indigenous launch capabilities. Based at the Palmachim Israel Air Force Base, this wonderful group of people face unusual obstacles. One, evidenced by the left leaning "A" in the logo, is the fact that Israel must launch WESTWARDS due to prohibitions of overflight to the East. This adds complexity and cost to all space efforts.
