This early 19th century US Military History photo features some of the black men of the 369th 15th New York Regiment who won the Croix de Guerre for gallantry in action. Although the Croix de Guerre is a French Military Decoration, it was also bestowed by France on the soldiers of the Allied Forces during the First World War and again in the Second World War.
