The Great Eastern 1858 Poster

Redecorate your habitat starting with a wall-sized poster of Brunel's iron wonder. This poster--contemporaneous with her launch-- explains all the vital statistics. I know it was printed in New York City but that's about i t. This is a painstakingly restored hand-coloured lithograph. I think the original got wet some time durings its life. The colours bled into each very badly. The writing was virtually illegible. I don't want to admit how many hours this took. I think it was worth it. I had not seen this particular view before, so with all the restoration, this is probably a unique portrait of the Great Iron Ship. (By the way, the direction of the smoke coming from her five funnels is inexplicable.)
