The Good Luck Long Apron

The Good Luck Long Apron pays homage to the New Year's Eve or New Year's Day tradition of eating black eyed peas, stewed tomatoes and collard greens to usher in economic prosperity, wellness, and good luck for the year. Adrian Miller, an author and food historian, said that the melding of West African and European traditions had come to inspire rituals observed by Black Americans.
