THE COPA TRUCKER HAT

In memory of one of South Florida's most historical gay night clubs - THE COPA. The memory lives on with this interpretation of the once beaming logo that greeted anyone arriving to Fort Lauderdale from the Airport. From the 1970's through 2005, The Copa was host to many Disco Diva Performers including: DIVINE, CHER, MARTHA WASH, RUPAUL, and GRACE JONES. The Copa also had its own roster of Drag Performers including Tiny Tina, Tiffany Arieagus, Kelly Anderson and Patti Cakes to name a few. THE COPA closed its doors in late 2005 due to roof destruction caused by Hurricane Wilma. Since then, the building has been totally demolished.
