The Champ Poster

One of the things I love about surfing on Padre Island is that feeling you get when you are sitting just inside the head of the pier at Bob Hall or Caldwell. When everybody is in the line-up, when the surf is pumping and the crowds on the beach and on the pier are jazzed about it. It's a contest. And I have long referred to this spot as the "Arena" because of it's close-range, all-around-you viewership atmosphere. This drawing was meant to represent just that. It's my feeling on paper.
