The cell cycle is the series of events that take place in a cell leading to its division and duplication (replication). In eukaryotes, the cell cycle can be divided in two periods: interphase , during which the cell grows, accumulating nutrients needed for mitosis and duplicating its DNA and the mitosis (M) phase, during which the cell splits itself into two daughter cells. The cell cycle consists of four phases: G1 (gap 1) phase, S phase (synthesis), G2 (gap 2) phase (these 3 phases make up the interphase) and M phase (mitosis). G0 is a resting phase where the cell has left the cycle and has stopped dividing. Scientifically accurate. Great for school science lab, doctor offices, clinic, hospital,... for educational purposes.
