The Buoy House Below Pyramid Mountain Postcard
Pyramid Mountain is a landmark of Unalaska Island and it indicates south on the compass. The buoy house is located beneath Pyramid Mountain on a hill overlooking Captain's Bay. At one time a fisherman owned the house and he flew a pirate's jolly roger flag when he was home from fishing. The house was sold to Westward Seafoods and it is now used as employee housing. In winter, the snow-covered Pyramid Mountain is an impressive sight.
