The Bancroft Library Presents: Five story brick building in late Victorian style. The Bancroft Company storefronts selling books and stationary on the left and right of the building entrance. Signs on the building read: The History Company; Publishers; The History building; The Bancroft Company; Booksellers and Stationers. Pedestrians, a small dog, a horsedrawn carriage and wagon bearing a sign from The Bancroft Company stationers are visible in front of building. Drawn by Charles John Dickman in 1895.
