This unique artwork depicts the great Egyptian Pharaoh, Khafre. He is surrounded by souls ascending to the Afterlife, as depicted by semi-transparent Eagles, Ravens and other birds. The Vulture in the foreground is a much featured icon in Egypt. He is shown as solid rather than transparent because of his function in Life as a carrion eater and therefore not considered a spiritually blessed creature. Pharaoh Khafre, also known as Chephren, ruled Egypt from 2520 - 2494 BC. He was the son of Khufu, the pharaoh that built the Great Pyramid at Giza. 25% of proceeds from all sales directly benefit the wonderful animal protection group, Defenders of Wildlife at www.defenders.org.
