The Apple Tree (by Bessie MacNicol) Card

This design features a painting by the Scottish artist Bessie MacNicol (1869–1904), who was associated with the Glasgow School of art. Her hair is chestnut brown and it falls down to the nape of her neck; she has some flowers in her hair too. She is smiling at the viewer with a simple and carefree joy. The leaves of the apple tree are green behind her. It is a bright summer's day and she appears to be sitting on the grass. The original artwork was painted by Bessie MacNicol in 1899.
