Ok, so one of my earliest art-related memories was when I was a little girl in Bend. A friend of the family, Mary Case, painted these amazing irises and I was totally in love with them. She told me I could paint lovely irises when I grew up, I didn't believe her, but she assured me that I could. I never forgot her lovely art and her encouragement. Now, like, two (or is it three?) decades later, I've painted my very own lovely iris, it is dedicated to Mary, who helped a little girl believe that anything is possible for someone who is willing to try. Thank you Mary!!!!

I was originally happy about my purchase and Nana loved the gift. HOWEVER, the description specifically says that these are microwave and dishwasher safe, BUT the first time Nana put this mug in the dishwasher it was destroyed. Not impressed..
