Teutonic Knights T-Shirt

In the early days of their existence the Teutonic Knights aided Christians on their pilgrimages to the Holy Land and established hospitals to care for the sick and injured. But the Teutonic Knights are best known for their later role as a powerful military/political/religious order which ruled over the areas of East Prussia, Livonia and Estonia. Though originally Catholic, the Grand Master of the Teutonic Knights converted and become a Lutheran in the 16th century. Today it is said that Catholics, Lutherans and Reformed persons may all be found among the organizations descended from that of the Teutonic Knights of the Middle Ages.
