Teanal Teagasg na Teanga T-Shirt

This t-shirt celebrates Teanal Teagasg na Teanga, a Scottish Gaelic language and culture retreat to take place in Johnson City, Tennessee this June. The name Teanal Teagasg na Teanga means 'Language Teaching Gathering', and the event's rhyming slogan, printed on the back of the t-shirt is 'Tha Gàidhlig ann am measg nam beann', meaning 'There is Gaelic in the hills'. The symbol on the back of the shirt, a triquetra (or, in Gàidhlig, a trì-cheàrnan, or 'three-corners') has been a popular motif in Gaelic art since at least the middle ages. Although its symbolic meaning varies from context to context, in this case, it symbolizes the 'Three Cs' of Grigne Gàidhlig Ghlaschu: Cànan (language), Cultar (culture), and Coimhearsnachd (Community).
