Tawhiri-Matea is the Maori God of the Elements. One of the sons of Papatuanuku (the Earth Mother) and Ranginui (the Sky Father) -he became very furious when they were parted by the tall trees of Tane Mahuta (God of the Forests).... and he still is. He makes his storms lash away at Tane's shores and war continues between the land and the sea. All these 'New Zealand' paintings where channeled from my guide - Rangi.
